We have plans for everything: Architectural plans, business plans, and battle plans. There are city planners, event planners, and wedding planners. Teachers craft lesson plans. Trainers make fitness plans. We personally strategize nearly everything: meals, sports, finances, homework, hobbies, and get-togethers.
Plans establish our goals, set schedules to attain them, and keep us accountable on our path to success and well-being.
Yet there’s one that’s often overlooked… a media plan.
We work and learn on screens. Our leisure time is spent on screens. The US and global average screen time hovers around 6 hours every day. Teens devote nearly 5 hours every day to social media.
Technology and media consumes much of our lives, yet we struggle to reign it in because it’s designed to demand our attention.
As a society we’re in the middle of what has been described as an epidemic of loneliness. We spend more time on screens than in the real world. We’re expected to be online, but we’re more disconnected than ever. There’s an urgency to get it right.
A media plan is vital to your personal and family well-being, and Driver’s Training for Social Media will guide you through developing one.
A media plan is part of three goals of the online course:
Know Your Vehicle... Social media is bigger than YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. It's any website, platform, or app that offers user interaction. Improve your digital literacy by knowing what you’re up against.
Find Your Compass... Discover the advantages and limitations of digital communication and how it impacts real world relationships. Learn how to view everything you produce or consume online as an investment.
Choose Your Path... Take back the time lost endlessly scrolling online by creating a media plan. With family, you’ll make a plan together, where everyone follows the rules they helped create.
We get it. You’re busy, and so are we. Even though we developed the course, we still had to carve out time in our schedules to go through it and create a plan as a family.
But the time we invested in the course gave us direction. It helped us create schedules that included screen-free times and zones in our home. It revealed how much of our day we waste consuming content that doesn’t build us up, and it gave us a plan to dream about offline goals and how to attain them.
Take the leap with us. Go through the course. See how the digital deck is stacked against you, and learn how to fight your way through it. In the end you’ll find the media plan you develop… is the plan we can’t live without.
